Amazing performances of our athletes at the UCI Marathon World Championship in Snowshoe ๐บ๐ธ๐ฅณ
The UCI Marathon World Championship in Snowshoe, USA, showcased some truly amazing performances from our athletes, leaving us both proud and reflective. While many athletes delivered strong rides, the results didnโt always reflect the hard work and talent on display. This reality can be tough for both athletes and their coaches to process, so we took the opportunity to hear directly from the competitors about their feelings and experiences during the championship.
Andi Seewald, who finished in 4th place, shared his thoughts on the race. He expressed a sense of satisfaction with his performance, especially considering the challenging conditions. Andi noted that finishing just shy of the podium was tough, particularly given the close time gaps between the competitors. However, he remains optimistic, looking forward to the changes and opportunities that next year will bring.
Jaki Hartman had a rollercoaster experience, finishing 14th. He described the race as possibly the best of his career in terms of performance. For much of the race, he felt strong and was part of the leading group. Unfortunately, a branch got caught in his rear derailleur, leading to a mechanical issue that cost him valuable time. Despite the disappointment of what could have been, Jaki is ready to move forward and is excited for his next chance to compete at the World Cup in Lake Placid.
Georg, who finished in 19th place, shared that he enjoyed the race for the first two-thirds, but faced a struggle towards the end as he ran out of energy. However, he took pride in the fact that he was able to finish strong after overcoming months of mental challenges. His happiness in returning to racing is a testament to his resilience and determination.
Martin also reflected on his performance, finishing in 15th place. He felt that achieving a top 15 result was quite satisfactory, especially considering the difficulties he has faced throughout the year. For him, this race is a step in the right direction, offering hope and motivation for whatโs to come.
These athletes exemplify perseverance and passion, even when the results donโt tell the full story. Their experiences at the World Championships remind us that the journey is just as important as the outcome. With their sights set on future competitions, we canโt wait to see how they continue to grow and inspire us all.
