P4 for Dani at the prologue of 4Island 🏝️🥳
Dani is starting her journey at the prologue of the 4-Island race, and it's quite the adventure! While we often highlight professional athletes who specialize in fast cycling, it’s important to recognize that many ambitious individuals balance their athletic pursuits with demanding careers. Dani is a prime example of this dedication. She spends 80% of her time working in a pediatric intensive care unit in Switzerland, managing a challenging 3-shift schedule that showcases her commitment both on and off the bike.
This weekend, she’s teaming up with her racing partner Alessia to tackle the 4-Island race in Croatia. This event features four stages and a prologue, totaling an impressive 272 kilometers and 6,210 meters of elevation gain. The course is known for its technical, rocky, and rough terrain, which means there’s little opportunity to relax or recover. It’s a constant battle of endurance and skill, pushing both of them to their limits.
Despite the challenges, Dani and Alessia put in an incredible effort. They narrowly missed the podium in their licensed category by just 9 seconds—what an achievement! Their determination and skill deserve all the respect.
Looking ahead, tomorrow brings the first stage of the race, which consists of 72 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1,500 meters. It’s bound to be a thrilling and demanding start. Good luck to Dani and Alessia! Enjoy every moment of the ride!
