VO2max Calculator: Your Race Times & Cycling Power
Enter your VO2max and instantly see what it means in the numbers that actually matter — your predicted running race times and your cycling power output. The estimates come from the Mader metabolic model, the same physiology engine behind every Afasteryou Powertest.

How this VO2max calculator works
VO2max is the ceiling on how much oxygen your body can use per minute. But on its own it does not tell you your race time — what matters is how that aerobic ceiling combines with your anaerobic capacity (VLamax) and body weight. This tool runs the Mader three-component model for a standard athlete profile and reads out the result as race pace and power.
Because every number is pre-computed across the full VO2max range, the slider updates instantly — and your inputs never leave your browser. The values are general estimates: your real VLamax, body composition and metabolism will shift them. To get your own exact numbers, run a Powertest.
Frequently asked questions
Is this VO2max calculator free?
Yes — it is completely free and needs no sign-up. Move the slider and read your predicted race times and power.
Wie genau sind die Vorhersagen?
They are model estimates for a standard athlete profile. Two athletes with the same VO2max can race very differently depending on their VLamax, efficiency and weight. For values calibrated to you, do a Powertest.
Can I use it for both running and cycling?
Yes. Switch between running (race times and pace) and cycling (power and W/kg, including your estimated FTP) with the sport toggle.
